According to ExistingCountries, Rhode Island (abbreviated: RI) is a state in the Northeast of America. It is part of the New England region, where the English settlers first settled. Because it is located on the Atlantic seacoast, it is also called the ‘Ocean State’. Narragansett Bay, the bay in which the state is located, offers idyllic scenery and plenty of opportunities for water sports enthusiasts. Although there is an airport in Warwick, most Boston passengers arrive in nearby Massachusetts. From there you can rent a car and drive to Rhode Island. The capital is Providence. Newport is also a well-known city. Providence is known as one of the most habitable cities in America. You will enjoy the many restaurants, but there are also plenty of options for art and culture lovers. One of Providence’s attractions is the WaterFire, an installation of 80 fire pits over the city’s three rivers that commemorates the sinking of a British warship. This event, in the town of Warwick, was one of the first actions in the American struggle for independence. If you rent a car, you can drive to Newport from Providence. This city is famous for its sailing race, the America’s Cup, which takes place every year. For a dose of culture, visit one of the many stately 19th-century vacation homes of wealthy New York families, such as the Vanderbilts.
