Education in Eritrea is free and mandatory for all children from the ages of 6-14. The Eritrean government has made significant investments in the educational sector, which has resulted in increased enrollment rates and improved infrastructure. Primary school consists of eight grades, followed by four years of secondary education for those who qualify. After completing secondary school, students may pursue tertiary education at a university or college. Higher education is offered in various fields including engineering, medicine, agriculture, arts and sciences. The government has also invested heavily in vocational training to equip young people with the skills needed to find employment. In recent years there has been an emphasis on technical and vocational training to address the country’s high unemployment rate among young people. This focus on vocational training has seen an increase in enrollment in technical schools around the country. Check andyeducation for Eritrea School and Education.
