About resorts

Soldeu is today the most popular ski destination in Andorra. This lively, modern and friendly village with an excellent range of ski and snowboard activities is also considered one of the most profitable resorts of this level. In summer, Soldeu becomes a favorite holiday destination for golfers, trekkers and hikers.

El Tarter, a nearby village located 1.5 km down the hill from Soldeu, is ideal for families with children and couples looking for a relaxing holiday. El Tarter also has great bars and restaurants, a supermarket, and 10- and 4-seat ski lifts that take skiers to the slopes. El Tarter also has its own English-speaking ski school, children’s room and kindergarten. Behind the slopes is the wellness center and bowling alley at the Nordic Hotel. Here you can also go ice skating, dog sledding or go exploring the bars of Soldeu.

Hotels

There will be no problems with the choice of accommodation in the resort, there are both good quality hotels with a wide range of services, as well as budget, but also very comfortable guest houses and B&B. From hotels you can advise Del Tarter, Euro Ski, Sport, Austria, Naudi, Bruxelles, Roc de Sant Miquel or Himalaia Soldeu.

Soldeu – El Tartera slopes

This resort is best suited for beginner to intermediate skiers and is famous for its beginner ski courses and snowboard school. It has its own freestyle park and a track for the little ones – Bababoom Circus. In total, the resort has 9 green, 21 blue, 10 red and 11 black slopes.

The best place for beginners is Espiolets with wide, gentle trails with plateaus. Professionals will appreciate the “off-piste” sections with virgin snow and icy steep slopes. Snowboarders, as usual, have their own half-pipe, beginner boarders can join group lessons, and more advanced (and money) ones can use the services of a personal instructor.

Shopping

Those who want to buy new high-quality sports equipment do not have to take their skis from Russia at all. Everything can be bought on the spot and at very attractive prices – either in the capital or directly in Soldeu – El Tarter. In Soldeu there is a specialized shop for skiers and snowboarders – Esports Calbo (next to the gondola lift) – one of the largest. There is a good selection of clothes, equipment and gifts. You can also visit Loaded, Pic Negre and Esports Bonell, which are located on the main road of the village and boast a wide range. There are also several supermarkets in Soldeu where you can buy groceries, postage stamps, gifts and cigarettes: these are Supermarket Post and Pirineu Supermarket. Both are on the main street Carretera General.

Shopping in El Tarter is not so rich, but since there is nothing to Soldeu, shopaholics do not feel deprived here. Directly in the center of El Tarter there is a Pirot Supermarket next to Dylan’s Bar. On the main street within the village is Caves Manacor, a shop specializing in delicacies, cheeses and national cuisine, as well as liquors, cigarettes, household items and gifts. Behind the next door is a perfume shop.

2 things to do in Soldeu

  1. Stock up on cosmetics, perfumes, clothes, shoes and ski equipment – after all, Andorra is a duty-free zone and it is better to come here with a full wallet!
  2. Organize dog sledding competitions. The loser pays.
