Interstate 190 or I -190 is a short Interstate Highway in the U.S. state of South Dakota. The highway connects the city of Rapid City with Interstate 90. I-190 is less than 2 miles long.

I-190 en US 16 in Rapid City.

I-190 begins at a trumpet interchange with I-90 on the northwest side of Rapid City. The highway has 2×2 lanes and heads south into the city. I-190 terminates on the west side of downtown Rapid City. However, I-190 is not Rapid City’s bypass for traffic to Mount Rushmore, so use the US 16 Bypass.

History

The highway probably opened at the same time as I-90 in about 1962. I-190 is not a bypass from Rapid City, but a spur from I-90 to downtown Rapid City.
