The town has a population of about 300 people, and its economy is largely based on tourism.

The area around Bluff was originally inhabited by members of the Anasazi tribe. The first Anglo-American settlers came to Bluff in 1880, and it was officially founded in 1881. Today, much of the town’s history can still be seen in its many historic buildings and structures including an old trading post that dates back to 1884.

Bluff is known for its natural beauty and outdoor activities. Its close proximity to Monument Valley allows visitors to experience some of the most breathtaking views in all of Utah.
