Ubuntu-Smartphone Get Premiere to October

First was the announcement by the end of this year or the beginning of 2014. The first Ubuntu-based smartphone coming, however, already in October, says the Director.

Ubuntu has attracted much attention the last month or so, since open source operating system has published a large-scale investment in the mobile market.

Several mobile enthusiasts-among other things at Mobilsiden.dk and our site-have given recognised for a desire to familiarize themselves with the new mobile OS, and they shouldn’t have to wait so long as first thought.

According to The Wall Street Journal has Director Mark Shuttleworth from Canonical, which is behind Ubuntu, so pronounced, that the first Ubuntu-based smartphone will be ready for sale in October. In the past, there has been talk about an expected premiere in late 2013 or early 2014.

App developers will already have access to the operating system at the end of this month. This is done via a version optimized for Galaxy Nexus phone.

Canonical-Director adds, moreover, to Ubuntu in the first place will be available on two large markets in October-the premiere. He does not want to clarify further, but said, however, that North America “certainly is a key market for Ubuntu.”
