Facebook’s mobile apps will soon be able to know everything about where users are moving to. The goal is increased advertising revenue.
Facebook is on the hunt for more ad revenue, and the solution seems to be constant registration of users’ movements. It writes Bloomberg and our site.
Users can even indicate where they are via the so-called ‘check in’, but the plan is that mobile app to do location available constantly.
It can make it easier to find and meet up with Facebook friends, but at the same time opens new opportunities to show targeted ads. This can make Facebook even more interesting as advertising platform and increase the company’s revenue.
The change is expected to be implemented in March.
